Pease do not book this hotel I booked for NYE In September and paid my deposit as was required to secure the booking on New Years Eve...Understandable I was contacted several weeks ago to explain they did not have the type of room i had booked and would have to downgrade me Quite why it took so long i have no idea The prices had doubled not too long before this mmmm i wonder Just this week i was then told due to a boiler which could not be fixed with still 2 weeks to go My booking was cancelled,, No offer of help just sorry find somewhere else Did the guests who paid the extra have their bookings cancelled i wonder Absolutely disgraceful customer service We are now left out in the cold unable to meet a group of 12 friends we had arranged to meet 3 MONTHS AGO SHOCKING AVOID AVOID AVOID

Very good pub nice to sit outside in the limited sunshine we get . Guiness is good and staff are lovely all you need

Few minutes from train stn, ended our day out here watching a local Ska band, good pint of beer, more for adults, can't comment on facilities only went to the big entertainment room. Looked a nice place to stay though.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL We made a booking in February for a 2 night stay in August in order to perform at the Saltburn Folk Festival and they took our deposit of £75. With only a month to go, they cancelled our booking with no apology and no explanation. I have come to learn that they have been cancelling bookings for some months. Only after chasing them several times did we manage to get the deposit back. The staff are clearly embarrassed by the cancellation system and do not know what excuse to give. I eventually had communication from one of the owners, who told me that some rooms are being renovated and others have been let on a long-term contract. Why then did they take our booking (and many others) in the first place? One might wonder whether this is a ploy to use the interest on people’s deposits to pay for the renovation work. The most infuriating thing about the whole situation was the owner’s haughty attitude. He was not a bit sorry for breaking our contract or for the inconvenience it has caused us. I would not now use this establishment under the current owners as a matter of principal and would urge anyone who respects good manners and common decency to avoid it.

I stayed here previously and found it dated, in need of some tlc, budget hotel level, but room was clean, staff pleasant and breakfast good. I love the amazing building, it's history and it's great position. Recommended it to friends and they booked in February 2024 and I booked in May for w/e of 9-11th of August for the the folk festival. A month to the event our rooms (legally confirmed) have been cancelled with no apology and no explanation. Reviews on TripAdvisor show this has been done to others. The lady in the bar who answered the phone claimed the manager was not there, then she was busy on the phone, and that they were "closed for August". When the other lady took over I asked why the cancellation, why nothing on the website & why were they still taking bookings online. No better results but a very unprofessional response and yet more contradictions.. Such as, the computer would only let them cancel bookings s month in advance, so couldn't notify me earlier, and a weird admission they had been cancelling bookings since FEBRUARY. Owner, Mr Kenney, has tried to resolve this but still says they are fully booked! No other reason offered. No suitable alternatives, so I have had to cancel being with my team and friends. Deeply disappointed. Genuinely, I would like better things for this hotel, it has great character and location and is well worth preserving. Sincerely hope someone will sort it out and soon.

Booked a room in May for 6th Aug I had an email yesterday saying they had cancelled it !!! No explanation as to why until I called this morning to be told the new owners had cancelled everyone's booking. Just read on one of the reviews that they are cancelling to take in refugees. Which isn't a problem but to cancel with no explanation isn't ideal.

Did not visit Saltburn House, just parked outside on the road. I did however call in for a drink last year staff very pleasant place very grubby and the beer was disgusting. I did the unthinkable and left it.

Basic room which was clean apart from the bathroom bin being full of rubbish, no complimentary toiletries. Staff behind bar very friendly. Excellent location for what I needed.

This is the most filfiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was less than basic. The curtain was hanging off it's rail. The shower had dirty black grouting. The explelair was blocked with fluff. Breakfast was served cold. I was asked to move from the window seat when other couples could stay. I of course refused. It gets a one star because it had a lift. Not recommended.

I had an incredible stay , the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms are basic but spotlessly clean . It's close to the beach shops and restaurants. I will be visiting again.
